I take part in the Mumme Poll, an online effort to create a more efficacious football ranking. Each week, voters are asked to pick the twelve best teams in college football, designating five as the best and seven as the rest. The teams are then ranked according to voting frequency, w/ "top" designation being used as a tiebreaker.
This week for my ballot, I dropped Florida from my Top Five b/c of how bad they looked in their "win" over Arkansas (as I said to @ShawnaRoss, "the fact that Arkansas has tied this game means that they've won"). The metric for Top Five determination became "do I think these teams can beat Florida?" and I think so (I was iffy on Boise State, but then I remembered the 2007 Fiesta Bowl & felt more justified).
Also, a lot of the comments on the site have mentioned that people are angry about the Virginia Tech beats Miami beats Georgia Tech beats VT situation & didn't want to rank all three. As an ACC fan &, specifically, a GT grad, I didn't have any problem w/ this (actually, I just wanted to rank GT & felt weird not ranking VT and Miami, as well).
Anyway, here's my ballot for this week:
