I really love Disco Dust. It's a great way to find new, free music. Anyway, they had a post about Eli Escobar that featured a remix of Stevie Nicks's song "Stand Back":
Listening to it, I thought: "I've heard this song before, but where?" I searched in iTunes for "Stand Back" and found that I had a song from a few years ago by Linus Loves:
Same song, two Stevie Nicks remixes. I wonder what the original sounds like? Interesting that you should ask:
So, what have we learned here?
- A good synthesizer line trumps everything (even bad choreography and parachute pants).
- Based on the end of this song, even Stevie Nicks didn't know why this song is great.
- Translation is a funny thing. I like how both remixes essentially just recast the synthesizers.
- Stevie Nicks was really good looking in the 80s.
