No photo for today, I'm afraid. The picture came out blurry and I didn't notice until the suit was already hung up. Which is sad, b/c I was wearing a pink shirt and a bow tie.
Anyway, one of the interesting things I've noticed during this project, so far, is that I'm increasingly not interested in listening to my iPod while walking around campus. In fact, I can honestly say that I have not listened to headphones since school started. I don't know if this will continue or not, but it's been interesting to observe. I think part of the problem is that I feel like I would look silly wearing a suit while listening to an iPod, which is weird given that the breast pockets of a suit jacket are perfect for stashing an iPod w/in headphone cable distance from the ears.
It's been, overall, very strange to realize that clothes in some ways really do change the way we behave but not always in the ways we think. While I started this project b/c I thought wearing a suit to teach every day would change the relationships I have with students (& I'm not ruling out the possibility), I have noticed that the actual changes in behavior are much more subtle, such as not listening to the iPod as much (or at all, actually).
Again, I'll report on developments as they continue.
